fun monday

i am linking up to Miss Ashley's event. today, i had the choice to write about 1930s-- a game, a radio show, or music. i chose a game.

did you know? the game "Scrabble" was invented in 1938, by a man named Alfred Mosher Butts. it is a favorite game in my family, and it helps with academic skills.

I did not know.
We do not have Scrabble as such, but we have a Czech version (which includes Czech letters) - it's one of our family favourites, too. It's always fun to see what words we come up with, and it's a tradition in my family to always photograph the final board.

Hana Marmota,

That sounds a lot like Scrabble! Trust me, Scrabble is a very fun game!

Are you Czech? I was curious because of your name. :)

How interesting...I definitely didn't know that Scrabble was invented in the 30s!
My mom and bro love playing Scrabble, and I join them occasionally:)

It's a Scrabble rip-off.
And yes, I'm Czech. That's the way you write "Hannah" or "Hanna" in Czech - and pronounce it a bit differently, with both A's as in words like "far", but not so long. :-) Marmota is the Latin biological name of marmot/groundhog, my favourite animal.

Natasha Marie,

Yes, it is interesting! Especially because I like the game so much. :)

Hana Marmota,

I see. :) That's neat! I'm German, and my name is pronounced "Jo-hON-uh". :)

Blessings!
